Happy Thanksgiving!

Okay Family, so we've been a tad bit behind on updating you all with the blog and when I say tad bit I mean about 3 or so months.:-) Nonetheless here we are! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we are so thankful for family, especially those of you who are traveling to Birmingham to celebrate the holiday with us. We pray that you all make it to and from safely and that we all enjoy the time spent.

Now on to business.... We've gathered prices on a few different options for the reunion based on some of the responses from the survey. More details will come, but just to give you an idea here are some things we're looking at:

Option 1: Reunion in Birmingham starting on a Friday ending on Sunday in July 2010
Option 2: Family Reunion Cruise from New Orleans, Mobile, AL or Tampa, FL 3-5 Day cruise to the Caribbean
Option 3: Alabama State Park Reunion specifically Mt. Cheaha (weekend trip)
Option 4: Family Reunion in Gatlinburg, TN (weekend trip)

More details on all of these options will come really soon; please be on the lookout and feel free to post your questions and/or concerns.

In the mail!

Finally the letters and surveys are in the mail! Now you all have one month (August 31, 2009) to get them back to us, so that the "real" planning can get underway. Don't forget you may mail, fax or email your responses to us, which ever way is most convenient! We just want to hear from you soon!

Also, don't forget your pictures. We'd like to not only hear from you but see you too!:-) God bless!

Interest Letter and Survey

Well family, it's been almost an entire month and we've finally gotten the addresses typed for our mailing and the interest letter and survey are ready to go. It is our hope that once the letters go out that we don't take this long with any of our other efforts. This has been a busy month for the planning committee, with lots of work and family obligations to tend to. The family reunion will definitely have priority in the coming months in hopes of making the 2010 reunion a success.

Please try and get your surveys back to us as soon as possible! We look forward to hearing from you all soon. Also, if you have any pictures to post on the blog including captions please send them to us via mail or email at waltonfamilyreuion@yahoo.com.

Planning is underway!

Today an email went out to potential committee members. So far there are five confirmed members of the 2010 Reunion Committee. July 1, 2009 marks the official start to the reunion planning. An interest letter and survey have been drafted and is scheduled to be mailed out within the next few days.

We're excited about the upcoming Walton Family Reunion and pray that the event as well as participation is a success!
